Dear Mother
Dear Mother, I remember all those years.
I recall all your trials, all your tears;
All those times you could have walked away
But you didn't. You always chose to stay.
I used to wonder at your tennacity,
for your sorrows ran to full capacity.
And as I watched the tears run down your face,
I marveled at your gentleness and grace.
God blessed you with the birth of ten.
How sad you were when He took one back again.
I remember always how you leaned on Him.
The power in your life came from within.
And now we lay your shell of body down.
Your spirit, it shall never see the ground.
The moment that we had to say goodbye,
Your loving soul took wings, began to fly.
I'll miss you Mother; your sweet smiling face.
You never faltered; you have won the race
And now in glory bathed in Holy Light,
His arms encircle you. You've won the fight.

Come To Me
Come forward do
and let me look at you.
An angel I presume.
Come forward now,
So that I may avow
to see your face
and touch your brow.
Come to me please
and let me take you on my knees.
You are my own sunlight.
Oh, how I love you so.
My grandchild, Alex

I Sorrow Still
This sorrowed night, I mourn my loss.
I cannot sleep, I turn and toss
As memories still burn so bright.
I mourn my loss this sorrowed night.
I now recall when he was born.
T'was sunny then, that happy morn.
How could I know that death would call.
When he was born, I now recall.
When he was small so good was he.
We played as he sat on my knee
And then one day he learned to crawl.
So good was he when he was small.
He grew to be a handsome man.
His future bright he then began.
His pleasure was to fish at sea.
A handsome man he grew to be.
I sorrow still from that sad day.
Who would believe t'would end that way.
It must have been our Father's will.
From that sad day, I sorrow still.

RAIN
As luminescent water flows over rocks and stone,
I watch it changing colors as I sit here all alone.
There's something truly magical in sounds of waterfall.
I reach out with my hand and try to catch the droplets all.
A misty splash of moisture then covers all of me;
In this wondrous pleasure it is God whom I then see.
As it collects below the fall and forms the river bed,
Azure with pinks reflect the sky that lights us overhead.
Then clouds come forth in billowy forms looking plump and gray,
Bursting forth with large thunder then and loosing an array
Of tiny little droplets of this moisture-laden potion,
Which just before it pours on us makes such a loud commotion,
It doesn't matter to me that soaked is my hair now
Or that my clothes are stuck to me as I wipe off my brow.
The trees and plants all seem to smile, I thought I saw one wink
And everything around me is just glistening in sync.
I wonder if when God made earth he planned to bless it oft;
Then placed soft clouds like soldiers to watch o'er us aloft.
When sun has scorched our mighty earth and things are looking dry,
We await the sound of thunder that comes roaring from the sky,
And then the earth with all its life replenishes again.
I look up and thank Him for this gift of nourishing rain.

Paper Morining Glories
There are
too many substitutes
in this world;
Sour cream
Eggs
Bacon
Even artificial tears.
My neighbor has plastic flowers
in her pots.
Mine are real.
I have to water and feed them.
But then I get the hummingbirds.
Some people are counterfeit.
Just like paper morning glories.
Sometimes it seems
nothing is real.
I hope I am.

The Vessel
The petals of the rose, with stamens cradled in,
Protected in the center, where life began within.
It softly cups its hands, around the center rose.
Protected from the wind, that sometimes coldly blows.
And with each passing day, the rose does open wide.
The stamens standing tall, that were hiding deep inside.
The petals growing weak , before they start to leave,
Some fall to the wayside, As all the others grieve.
While each, softly falls, their life is almost done.
They've held their heads up high, to brightly shining sun.
And now they look for shade, and darkness of the night,
Quietly they leave, Soon they'll be out of site.
Slowly stamens die, they say their last good-byes,
How lone and bare my vase, I sadly dry my eyes.
The stem now stands alone, His duty he's fulfilled,
I solemnly take the vase, out the water's spilled.
My vase now stands alone, looking barren and sad,
Waiting for fresh flowers, with many petals clad.
How empty vessel is, where heart has died this day.
And life no longer dwells, where soul has gone away.

The Poet
The words of a poet
Come from the heart
But the feeling
From deep within.
A place in the soul
That is hard to reach
Yet the door
Is very thin.
Emotions that sometimes
Are hidden away
Are touched by
Circumstances.
That we cannot control
But reaches our soul,
By life and all it's expanses.
Opening up like the bloom
Of a sweet smelling rose
Then on it's journey proceeding.
Outpouring of feelings
Held deep inside
The birth of a wonderful reading.

The Cradle
The cradle that grandpa made,
Each twig he bent with care.
The tree the twigs were taken from
Was oh so unaware.
That soon a little one,
Angelic smile upon her face,
Would lie inside this cradle dear
That grandma edged in lace.
Now, the twigs grew back
On severed limbs
With leaves all spread about.
Happy to make the sacrifice
And did not feel without.

Autumn Farewell
Petals faded from the sun
Falling gently one by one
Leaves all touched by autumn's gold
Interspersed with colors bold
Grass is weary from summers' heat
Soon cold winds the blades defeat
Time for natures rest to come
Summers beauty comes undone;
Say farewell to lovely fall.
Soon snow and ice will blanket all.

Castles Of Colors
How I love to walk
On the dried fallen leaves
The sounds of crunching I hear.
Colors of brown, red and gold
Form a carpet so rich,
The sounds are a tune to my ear.
Rake them up in a pile
Like castles of colors
And then the children appear.
They tumble and roll
Through the piles of dried leaves
Their laughter filling the air.
As the cold air approaches
Bringing winds that will sting,
Say goodbye to these castles so dear.
You'll not see them again till next year.

Continuum
As the sun rise glows golden
And stars have surrendered to defeat,
Saphire heavens go into hiding
Mystical stars are obsolete.
As warmth of daylight begins
Sleep now falls on darkened skies,
Awakening me to a new tomorrow
As I open up my eyes.

A Gifted Glimpse Of heaven
Sleepy, tired and so deplete, now to my bed I go.
Laying down on soft cool sheet, my breathing is so slow.
I travel down a long, long path with ease of gravity
And all the pleasures I have dreamed of follow me.
First I see the trees so green that line the pathway long,
Then a flock of birds of colors sing a mystic song.
As I glide on this path, sweet flowers bright I see,
And every single petal is as vibrant as can be.
It seems as there's a light inside just glowing from within,
And then my eyes stay open wide; "Oh, How did this begin?"
Across the colored stones, sweetly hums a waterfall.
And the sun above appears to me as a glazing golden ball.
The clouds as fluffy cotton candy slowly drifts by,
And as I view this celestial scene it brings tears to my eyes.
A butterfly with sparkling wings brushes past my face.
It seems as God has touched this place with His loving grace.
Now it's time for my return yet, I want not to leave.
I thank You God for wonders You've allowed me to perceive.
My hope is that upon my wake I will recall my vision.
And now I realize that this was a gifted glimpse of heaven.

A Scarlet Rose
A scarlet rose that stands so tall,
And proudly shows her face to all,
Yet carefully you hold the stem,
For thorns protect this lovely gem.
Her face, soft folds of ruby hues,
So touch her gently if you choose.
A maiden glowing from within,
Sweet music of a violin.
Her petals gently falling now,
And as she fades, stem sadly bows.
Yet, thorns' defense may still remain,
Until the ending of her reign.

Ethereal Bliss
I long to lay upon the souffled cloud
And gaze out into never-ending space;
Then catch the falling glitter of the stars
as gently they cascade across my face.
I'd brush my cheek against blue velvet sky
And run my fingers through the golden threads
Of sunshine's rays that glimmer with delight
As on the earth its glorious light it spreads.
When dews of life in the clouds interlace,
Fierce lightening opens up the hatch.
Each tiny drop prepares for its escape,
Releasing joyous raindrops earth will snatch.
And then I'd fly away on wings of air
That lift me up into ethereal bliss.
To nothing else on earth would this compare.
With grateful lips the universe I kiss.

Moonglass Dreams
Moonglass dreams and paper stars;
Liquid skies marred with scars.
Paths not always paved with gold.
Rays of sunshine turned ice cold.
Sobs I hear in garden near
From sorrowed plant of Baby's Tears,
And Berberis of bright red leaves
Shows the world how much it grieves.
Clouds explode within the sky,
Shedding teardrops as they cry.
Joining in with weeping willow
Now I saturate my pillow.

She Withers
With emptiness she suffers
Utterings of death linger still.
Her comfort is her muse.
Offering verses of life.
Even as she withers..
